Hello! I am the School Social Worker for Ashe County Middle School, Ashe County High School, and Ashe County Early College. I have an Associate of Arts Degree from WCC and my Bachelor’s of Social Work from Appalachian State University. I graduated from ASU in 2013 and worked at the Department of Social Services in Alleghany for 5 years. In 2018 I became the District School Social Worker until 2021, when I started serving 3 schools. Being a Social Worker is my passion and I look forward to partnering with your student(s) and family!

As your school social worker, I am able to work with families and students on alleviating stressors of barriers that are in the way of your student’s school success. Being a School Social Worker, I have the flexibility to meet your family needs to best problem solve with your student and family. I can offer case management services, referrals to many different community resources, crisis management, assistance with homelessness, attendance monitoring, basic needs, community collaboration, and any other needs that your student may have. Hello! I am so happy you are here! I serve as a school social worker in the three elementary schools in Ashe County. I rotate to Blue Ridge Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, and Westwood Elementary during the week. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work in 2012. I have almost 9 years of experience in the social work field with almost two of those years being in the school system.

As a school social worker, it is my passion to help the families in our community by removing any barriers that may be preventing our students from learning and being successful at school. I like to tell students that every person needs help from someone at some point in their life! I hope to be that liaison between the school, families and the community to provide services to our students such as case management, assistance with crisis situations, assistance with homelessness, and monitoring attendance to help our students be the best that they can be!

    Weekly Schedule:

    Monday:  Mountain View Elementary
    Tuesday:  Blue Ridge Elementary
    Wednesday:  Westwood Elementary
    Thursday:  Central Office
Friday:  Rotation of each elementary school
